Do you feel that there are never enough hours in the day? Do you feel like you are constantly go go go? Do you feel you never get two seconds to just stop?
I am always one for saying there are never enough hours in the day. I am also a sucker for writing ridiculous to do lists and then feeling completely overwhelmed because there is so much to do….and never enough time to do it. The last couple of weeks have been totally manic and I have been really feeling this recently!
So today I wanted to write about creating time for you!

You should never feel guilty about making time for you – even if it is just sitting down for 5 minutes! It’s so easy to get too caught up in a whirlwind and not give yourself a bit of perspective and time out where possible. I always think taking time out to have a refresh is essential – but fitting into your schedule is another matter.
Sometimes, even just getting out of the house, or the office and having a 15 minute walk, can feel enough just to have a bit of time to yourself and clear your head. If you can, give yourself permission to take a day off! I plan to do this later this week and have scheduled a day off in my diary – nothing else allowed! I think taking one day can be enough to let yourself rest, read a book, pop to the shops, see some friends, potter around the house, whatever it is you enjoy doing – you then feel refreshed and ready to tackle the next day. So my tip, get it in the diary! Write it down, schedule it in your phone and don’t move it, add anything to your diary or schedule during that time! Do what you want, give yourself permission!
As much as I love a lazy day, I feel it can be really counterproductive! As it can add to my stress having not done anything, my to-do list screaming at me. Sometimes, I totally feel like this, in which case I make sure I do at least one thing – either urgent or top priority – and get that done and then give myself the permission for the rest of the day off. I think life is too short to be unhappy or feel down. So if your feeling overwhelmed, over worked…it’s totally ok to give yourself one day!! EOr if the thought of taking a whole day off makes your stomach turn, even just taking a couple of a hours or a morning off, could be just what you need! I’m not saying this should be done every day – but within reason! We have to look after ourselves, that should be a top priority and I believe that if we are consistently overworking ourselves and not doing what we love or allowing ourselves time to just be, then what’s the point of it all!
I would love to hear from you below, what you think? Whether you give yourself time off to regroup and focus on you, or if you have any tips to share!
Much love, Charlotte x
